iRobot Combo Review

Combo is the first mop from iRobot and vacuum robot. It's also the most attractive. Its brushed aluminum top piece and irobot mop reviews logo are classier than the blaring designs of competitors.

The iRobot Home application is used to help you set up and guide your robot. The app gathers data on usage and maps of your home including furniture and obstructions. Maps and image data is only shared with iRobot when you sign up.

It's a mop

The Combo Irobot is a clever mopping robot that combines all the features of the excellent Roomba J7+ and includes an on-board water reservoir, a small mopping pad, and a clever robot arm that raises and lowers the pad. It can do many tasks in 11 minutes before running out of juice and automatically returning to its base station for recharge.

The combo model also features the irobot with mop home app, so you can initiate and stop cleaning runs. The robot irobot roomba also looks attractive with its matte black finish that does not display dust or fingerprints, and a brushed aluminum top piece with small iRobot logo.

It's a great vacuum cleaner and has no trouble crossing over large areas of carpet or transition strips between flooring surfaces. It's also able to pick up fine dust that other robotic vacuums don't. However, it's not great in the field of mow. It can't get rid of dried milk stains, unless you've sent it at least four or five times.

iRobot’s dedicated Braava jet M6 mopping robotic cleaner, which is usually available in a bundle along with the J7 Plus for less than the combo Combo is a superior job of this and other difficult jobs. It can also remove ketchup and wine spills, but I wouldn't recommend sending it after any liquids that contain a large amount of sugar.

It's an air vacuum

It's among the more attractive robot vacuums. The top part is smooth and doesn't display fingerprints or dust as easily as some competitors. Its tiny combo dustbin and water tank are easy to open and close but they're not the most efficient in terms of capacity. The Combo j7+ also has the features you'd would expect from irobot roomba mop and vacuum with features like map and obstacle avoidance mapping that works effectively and swiftly. The mopping arm is what makes this model stand out in its class. The mop pad is kept on the top of the robot vacuum. However, if it detects a surface that needs mopping the pad is moved underneath and behind the robotic vacuum. This is a huge upgrade over other robot vacuums that require you to manually remove the mop pad to clean hard floors and carpets, or even turn the entire machine off to mop.

It's an electric charging station

Place your Combo Irobot on the changing station, and align the metal contacts on the base. The charging station functions well and is easy to install. In my tests it took just a few minutes to charge and then make a noise when it was finished. After the Combo irobot is charged, you can start an exploration run within the app to help it understand your home. You can also mark certain items such as cords for lamps, as permanent avoidances in the app. You can also connect Alexa or Google Assistant to your robot so that you can use voice commands for it to navigate around the house.

It's a smart device

Combo irobots make use of acoustic as well as onboard sensors to discover the kind of floor it's stepping on and the furniture in your home. This information is combined with images from the robot’s onboard camera as well as maps of your home to make an individual plan for cleaning every room. It's intelligent enough to stay clear of your lamp cords, couches and other items you would like to keep. Of course, like any connected device there are questions about the security of this data. But iRobot says it will never sell customer data and all images are taken with the consent of the customer.
